We do not share our mailing
lists with anyone. Additionally, we do not track you in any way
and currently only use cookies in our message board and chat room
areas. We are a true opt-in site. Because you are
responsible for finding the member whose tastes most closely match your
own, we have no need to track you. When you sign up on our site for the
mailing list, contests, message boards, etc, you will see we ask no
personal information. We don't want it. We don't need it.
End of story.
You should be aware that companies who manage ad inventories such
as Doubleclick or Engage do track your activity as you surf across the
Internet. You should visit their sites for their privacy policies.
If like us, you are very sensitive about your privacy,
you should regularly clean out the cookie file on your computer.
Not only is this a good thing to do to protect your privacy, but it
will give you a clear idea of who has been tracking you. It also
will let you know where family members have surfed. (So if you're a
kid surfing a porn site and don't want your mom to know, make sure you
delete these files too! Deleting visited links in your browser isn't enough!)
It is fairly easy to delete these files. If using a PC, go to
the start menu and click on "Windows Explorer". From
there, find the browser you are using and drill down until you find an
entry entitled "Cookies". Do not delete the folder itself.
Simply open the folder, highlight all the cookies and then hit delete.
If you have never done this before and have had your computer for a
while, you will find this file to be shockingly large. In
fact, if you've been noticing all the space on your hard drive being
consumed and you haven't been able to figure out why, the cookie file
is often the culprit.
Important: Some sites require you to sign in to use their
services, like our message boards/chat rooms for example. If you have our cookie in your file, you are signed it automatically when you visit
the site. If not, you will need to enter your user name and
password. If you want to avoid the hassle of re-signing into
sites in which you are registered, make sure you do not delete any
cookie with that site's name in it.
